Chinese Bian Embroidery, also called Song Embroidery, had developed into full
swing at Kaifeng, Capital of early Song Dynasty over 800 years ago .The court
set up an "Elegant Embroidery Academy" producing refined works such as apparel,
decoration and embroidery pictures for emperor, relatives and the broidery girls
Great Minister Temple and a socalled "Alldy of Embroidery" where the embroidery
girls gathered together to make and sell their works, which shows the embroidery
had reached a considerably level at that time.
Based on inheriting and developing the traditional embroidery, Bian Embroidery
has seen its new development. The world-famous masterpiece Riverside Seven of
Qingming Festival by the well known painter Zhang Zeduan of Song Dynasty, as
well as Scene of Five Oxen, painting Scroll of Song Dynasty, as well as Scene of
five Oxen, Painting Scroll of 87 Gods, Scent of Hundred Galloping Horses and
some portraits have been made into an embroidered picture scrolls and
embroidered works, displaying the characteristics of classic beauty, elegance
and exquisite craftsmanship.
Bian Embroidery is a essence of Mid-China Culture and a miracle in China are of
embroidery.
