Product Description Mimaki has responded to the needs of power users and quick delivery, introducing the next generation of high speed-high quality wide format solvent inkjet printers. The JV5-130S and JV5-160S are the next generation solvent inkjet printers equipped with newly developed print heads. The new JV5 series provides an ultra-high print speed of 40m2/hr (430sq.ft/hr) with a new high quality 540 x 1080 dpi mode, designed for short distance signage and photorealistic applications. The new generation JV5 responds to the needs of power users and quick delivery by using a newly developed print head which carries 4 times as many nozzles as the current JV3 series. In addition to this breakthrough advancement is a recently developed Mimaki head configuration of 4 staggered print heads. The new JV5 models are equipped with 4 new automatic functions: * auto-laser nozzle-out detection * auto-adjusting head gap * auto-change double ink cartridges * auto-media-feeding compensation These auto functions are designed to total greatly improve operator efficiency, resulting in the highest quality and consistency of the printed work. Two kinds of solvent inks are available: ES3 ink which is eco-designed & low odor, HS ink for high scratch-resistance and durability (HS ink will be available in the near future) 3 WAY intelligent heating system includes a-large-sized post-heater and an external dryer enabling super-high speed printing and take-up mechanism, allowing media to be printed fast with any kind of ink. Key Features 1. High quality and high speed printing by the newly developed 4 staggered print heads. The JV5 series, which has new print heads equipped with 1,440 nozzles (180 nozzles x 8 lines), features a print stroke of 4 inches by arranging 4 one inch print heads in an array of four staggered lines. Through adopting variable dot technology, an amazing print speed of 40㎡/hr (430sq.ft/hr) with a new high quality print mode of 540 x 1080dpi designed for short distance viewed graphics & photography. 2. Automatic nozzle-out detection prevents waste caused by defective prints. Automatic nozzle-out detection function reduces the loss of media and wasted ink by choosing to either discontinue printing, or to reclean the print heads when nozzle-out is detected. 3. Automatic detection of media thickness and self-adjustment of the head height. Detection of media thickness is automatically adjusted to a specified head height gap, which provides the best print quality when a new media (with a different thickness) is used. 4. Automatic compensation of media-feeding offers stable and high quality prints. With a newly designed media encoder, media is fed evenly without any influence by the media weight, which results in stable and high quality prints. 5. Two types of solvent inks for various user applications will be released. ES3 ink No ventilation system is necessary due to very low odor. Everyone can use this eco-designed ink without any concern about odors. HS ink HS3 ink has very strong scratch-resistant and high ink density for outdoor usage. Special handling and licenses are unnecessary because the ink is not a regulated organic solvent. 6. Automatic change of double ink cartridges which results in 1.76 liters of ink per color. Automatic change of 2 cartridges per set and a maximum capacity of 1.76 liters ink per color allows the JV5 to provide long consistent prints without concern about running out of ink. 7. A large Post-heater enables high speed printing. A Large-sized Post-heater in addition to the Pre-heater and Print heater provides consistent, high quality prints on untreated vinyl media and provides adequate drying for the media take-up device. 8. The external dryer (option) can take-up media with diminished drying characteristics. High-speed print modes can be used with the external infrared heater even if the drying of certain media is not good.
