Diazolidinyl Urea Chemical Name: N-hydroxymethyl-N-(1,3-di-hydroxymethyl-2,5-di-ketone-4-iminazolealkyl)-N’-hydroxymethylcarbamide CAS NO.78491-02-8 EINECS: 278-928-2 Molecular Formula : C4H10N4O Molecular Weight: 130.1484 Physical Properties and Quality Data: Property and State: white fluid solid powder, hygroscopic property, odorless or little special odor. Solubility: dissolving in water, enable to dissolving in propadiol and glycerol, less dissolving in ethanol. Nitrogen Contents:19.0-21.0% loss weight by drying: <3.0% Residue by burning: <3.0% Diazolidinyl Urea permanently listed by the EU at levels up to 0.5% without restrictions. Diazolidinyl Ureais safe for both leave-on and rinse-off products and provides effective protection at low concentration levels (0.1-0.3%). Diazolidinyl Urea is an excellent preservative for shampoos and hair conditioners, either alone or in combination with parabens. Diazolidinyl Urea in combination with parabens retains activity against yeast and mold even when paraben effectiveness has been diminished by interaction with nonionics or proteins, or migration into the oil phase.
