Compact iSUPs are measured not by their inflated size but by the entire length and weight of the gear when deflated and put into its transportation bag. Before folding, compact iSUPs typically fold in half down the midline, enabling them to fit into a backpack-style bag roughly half the size of a conventional iSUP bag. To help lighten the weight of the board, compact iSUPs are also manufactured from more premium, lightweight materials. Accessories are also modified to fit better in these smaller bags.
